A Salute to Lou Ferrigno

On Ken P. D. Snydecast #199: Penultibicentennial Ken and Dana mention Lou Ferrigno.

Lou is a body builder and actor.

He has a Twitter account:
Fascinating, right?

Hey remember internet newsgroups? It was what people did before Twitter.

I don't think Lou ever used newsgroups but he was mentioned in them:
Lou Ferrigno = Mike Tyson = Mary Lou Retton = Annette Funicello?

Maybe. I'm bad at math.

Other than his performance as The Incredible Hulk, Lou is best known for the bodybuilding documentary 'Pumping Iron'.

Here he is with his dad, getting posing advice.

Here's an unrelated clip from the film "Cage" where Lou cries. Probably because he was sad Nic Cage wasn't in this film.

Carrot Top

On Ken P. D. Snydecast #199: Penultibicentennial Ken & Dana talk about Carrot Top.

Most specifically they talk about the possibility the allegations that he is on steroids.

First off, I never understood the nickname Carrot Top for someone with red hair.

The top of a carrot is green.

But whatever.

Anyway, Mr. Top once looked like this:
Then he looked like this:

Anyway, multiple sites accused him of taking steroids. Then in 2012 this site says he stopped and looks like this:

Cars Land: The Five Hour Line and The Balls

On Ken P. D. Snydecast #199: Penultibicentennial Dana and Ken talked about Cars Land at Disneyland.

Dana mention that there are 3 rides in the section:

From wiki:

Radiator Springs Racers — a slot car dark ride. The attraction takes guests in a six-person vehicle through a briefing with Doc and Lightning McQueen, characters from the film Cars. Suddenly, guests find themselves racing another guest vehicle through hairpin turns and steep banks, ending with a randomized race result. It is similar to Test Track at Epcot at Walt Disney World in Florida.

Mater's Junkyard Jamboree — an attraction in the style of a whip ride and the Mad Tea Party at Disneyland. The attraction is themed to Mater's Junkyard and the fields with baby tractors from the first film. Mater is the Master of Ceremonies of the Jamboree. The vehicles are tractors with pull cars attached to them that move around with the music.

Luigi's Flying Tires — an updated version of the original Disneyland attraction, Flying Saucers. This effect is achieved by large fan-like blowers shooting air up, like a giant air hockey table. Guests queue in the Casa Della Tires shop. A play area featuring a tire jungle gym, slide and kid-sized cars is located next to the attraction.

The one with the long line (and the single rider line) was Radiator Springs Racer:

The one with the balls that have been removed (tee hee, I said balls) is Luigi's Flying Tires:

With balls:
Without balls:

The one they didn't even mention was Mater's Junkyard Jamboree.

Screw you Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, screw you.

Dana appears in his hometown paper...

On Ken P. D. Snydecast #199: Penultibicentennial Dana mentions being profiled in his hometown paper.

Ken (who believes Dana's hometown in Las Vegas) mock's the paper comparing it to the Penny Saver.
But au contraire! The Morning Call is a daily newspaper based in Allentown PA and is owned by Tribune.

The Morning Call was founded on May 26, 1883 by Samuel S. Woolever. There are no pictures of him on the net other than this:
That's not even him unless he changed his middle name and died within 2 months of founding the paper.

Anyway, it's an important paper with 94,859 daily readers and 121,168 on Sunday.

The headline reads:
"Actors from the Lehigh Valley play animated characters in movies and TV"
by By Kathy Lauer-Williams

The article profiles Kate Micucci, Lara Jill Miller, Dana Snyder, Taylor Swift, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Daniel Dae Kim and Daniel Roebuck.

In that order.

So Dana is listed before The Rock.

Just wanted to point that out.

Here is what it says about the mighty Dana Snyder:

Dana Snyder

The former Easton resident left a drunken message on a show producer's voicemail, and was subsequently hired to play a character on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim cartoon "Aqua Teen Hunger Force."

Snyder voiced Master Shake, one of three main characters in "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" for nine seasons beginning in 2000. The show, now called "Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1," is slated to return for a 10th season this year.

Snyder also voiced the rude Shake in the 2007 film version of the show.

He shows up regularly on other Cartoon Network series, including as The Alchemist on "Venture Bros.," numerous characters on "Mad," Gazpacho on "Chowder" and Granny on "Squidbillies." He also voiced teacher Mr. Baldwin on Disney's "Fish Hooks."

Snyder voiced Strom Thurmond and Ulysses in 2007's "Dante's Inferno," which used paper puppets to animate a modern take on the 14th-century literary classic.

He is set to voice the character of Garthog in this year's "Hell & Back," an adult animated film about two friends who try to rescue their pal after he's accidentally dragged to hell.

Ken berated Dana's machine for a few minutes before Dana connected and said his phone had never rung.

They then went into a conversation about the lack of donations. So:

Go! Donate!

Anway, then then talked about Ken's state of exhaustion, pig anuses doubling as calimari, some octopus that Dana ate and Dana's trip to NYC.

Also, Ken nick named Dana "Johnny Piganus".
