Dana, thanks for joining me on the Creepcast - how are you?

Dana Snyder: Thanks, Creepy!

DRC: Let’s start off with the name of the new show you are on… YOUR PRETTY FACE IS GOING TO HELL. Do you know who named the show? It's an incredible name so I am just curious?

DS:That name i believe came from our dark lord and masters, Chris Kelly and Dave Willis.

DRC: Evil geniuses. So it's not a spin-off of Pretty Little Liars? Oh. Okay.

DS: IT IS, 100 percent. But don't tell the pretty little liars that please. We don't want a cease and desist order.

DRC: Who do you think the title is speaking to? Is it speaking to me? Kim Kardashian? Selena Gomez who are we talking about here?

DS: Don't be an idiot, it speaks to everyone who's ever loved...or needed love...or had a human heart, which is clearly not you or Selena Gomez.

Zero Mostel Reads A Book

KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #201: Elephansnydus features mention of the book "Zero Mostel Reads A Book".

From bangback.com:
In this hard-bound photo-essay, photographer Robert Frank, known for his outsider’s perspective on the strata of American society, follows Zero with a camera while he reads a random progression of books. A dictionary, a comic book, novels, and an anonymous assortment of thick texts. Reading, he moves around his home from room to room, first on a chair, then on a sofa, then pulling more books from his shelves; he drinks, he smokes. Frank’s camera is all the while capturing Zero’s reaction to what is being read — he cries, laughs, sweats, uses a magnifying glass, is scared,  horrified, enraged, makes hammy faces; he emotes.

Here are some great images from the book:

GoPro Camera

On KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #201: Elephansnydus the boys talk about the GoPro camera which Ken DID NOT get for free.

It's is called the "world's most versatile camera." It's creator made the camera after finding he couldn't get good surfing pictures.

FROM WIKI:
Woodman initially raised money for his company by selling bead and shell belts out of his VW van. Each belt sold for under $20.

So there's that.

Ken chides Dana for never uploading anything from Switzerland. So he uploaded this.

Oh Ken.

The Wizard of Oz on Ice

On KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #201: Elephansnydus Dana talks about his upcoming performance in The Wizard of Oz at the Lyceum Theatre in Arrow Rock, MO.

Dana will be performing the part of the Cowardly Lion from June 7th to June 16th!

You can go to the Lyceum Theatre website for tickets and info.

Anyway, Dana reminded me of the 1996 CBS TV special "The Wizard of Oz on Ice"?

Remember Bobby McFerrin's performance as The Wizard?

Oksana Baiul as Dorothy... but Shanice providing the voice of Dorothy?

And the ruby red ice skates?

Oh dear. It really happened.

Thankfully some of it is on YouTube. Even more thankfully, not all of it is on YouTube.

It starts out with an introduction by someone I don't recognize, but the scroll on the bottom indicates that his name was Senator Bob Dole:

Click here to see The Cowardly Lion sing!

Here are a bunch of videos I found but didn't watch. They may be a Rickroll or something. For your sake, I hope they are.

Here is the "making of" special which sadly never answers the question "why".

Now you should be sufficiently ready for a QUALITY version of this story. Go to the Lyceum Theatre website for tickets and info.

The Freshmaker

On Snydecast 200 Dana and Ken rattle off some commercial jingles. Ken mentions "The Freshmaker":

Dana mentions the Dos Equis commercial with "I don't always drink beer, but when I do I drink a s***load!"

Or whatever he says.

They also reference the Trident commercial that says "4 out of 5 dentists recommend..."

Here is a parody by Trident:

Far Cry 3

On KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #200 Dana mentions his love of the game Far Cry 3.
Dana has been playing the game on PS3.
From wiki:
Far Cry 3 is a first-person shooter, which also features role-playing game elements including experience points, skill trees, and a crafting system. The player has the ability to take cover behind objects to break enemies' lines of sight and also to peek around and over cover and blindfire. The player also has the ability to perform silent "takedowns" by performing melee attacks from above, below, or close behind. The game's narrative director, Jason Vandenberghe, said that the story mode map is around ten times larger than in the game's previous installments. Players are given the ability to survey and plan out their attacks with stealth takedown combinations and also tag enemies with the camera in order to track their movement once they break the player's line of sight.
Here is the game's trailer:

China Beach

KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #200 features Ken opening a boxed set of China Beach.

Dana then can't remember who Robert Picardo is:

He is also surprised to hear he once had hair.

The China Beach set is available from Time Life.

Go buy it, or see if they will send it to you for free. Tell em you know Ken... but don't know who Robert Picardo is.

From the mailbag...

Hi Ken & Dana,

Long time listener, (yes there are more than two of us), first time writer.
I was just listening to the new episode, and was compelled to write in.
First, just to let you know how much I enjoy the podcast, as sporadic as it has been.
And second, to let you know that there actually exists a hot dog restaurant in Vancouver, BC. Japadog (http://www.japadog.com/) has several hot dog carts, but also has one dedicated sit-down restaurant downtown. And according to their website, they just opened a new location in New York.

They don't have a "hot tot" but they do have a Croquette dog, which is two mashed potato croquettes alongside the sausage. Not tried it myself, but it certainly looks delicious.

I don't know if you already knew about Japadog, or whether this even would count as a true "Hot Dog Restaurant," given that it started as just a cart.

Anyway, keep up the good work, and we all miss The Mail Song.

- Mark

Well.... here ya go:

Blancanieves

On KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #200 Dana mentions Blancanieves.

Blancanieves is a 2012 black-and-white silent Spanish film based on the fairy tale "Snow White". The film is set in 1920.

Dana saw it at th No Ho 7, where hoes are not welcome.

Here is the film's trailer:
