Video: Frank Zappa on The Monkees

In KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #108: OH, WHATEVER Ken and Dana talk of Neil Innes and the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band. Then Dana asks what the U.S. equivalent of Neil and his band would be.

Ken says it may be Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention.

Then Ken says “I’m sure everybody remembers Frank Zappa from his wonderful guest appearance on an episode of The Monkees.”

The Monkees was, by far, my all-time favorite show growing up. And this moment was definitely a high point. The Monkees not only introduced me to Frank Zappa, but also Rip Taylor. And really, when you get right down to it, isn't that the greatest gift of all?

Also, "Save the Texas Prairie Chicken."
