a closer look: Sorrell Booke

On KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #145: Get ‘Em, Flash! Dana and Ken spend a lot of time talking about actor Sorrell Booke.

Sorrell was a wonderful character actor who was best known for his portrayal of Boss Hogg on the Dukes of Hazzard.

Ken: Fantastic actor.
Dana: Yeah, alright. He's good.
Ken: Would you agree with that? As a character actor? A very good character actor.
Dana: Yeah. I agree with that.
Ken: And a versatile character actor.
Dana: Somewhat.
Ken: Somewhat?
Dana: What's this versatility?
Ken: I mean obviously you can see the extremes of it with a southern character like Boss Hogg.
Dana: And then like always, also, like a stuffy business guy.
Ken: Yes.
Dana: So basically an accent or... it's not like in this one he was a Catholic priest...
Ken: I will bet you at one point he probably played a Catholic priest.
Dana: No way. No way.

Well, a look at Sorrell's imdb page shows that he played 'Father Phillipe' on an episode of the show Black Sheep Squadron.
Not sure if that was a priest or just a soldier with an odd first name.

Here is an amazing news clip of Sorrell and the rest of the cast acting as Grand Marshall's of a Kentucky parade in 1980.
