Adult Swim’s Dana Snyder and FRED’s Ken Plume set out to have a literate conversation between two pals, but inevitably devolve into a verbal, and funny, free-for-all full of bickering, infighting, and the special kind of male bonding that comes from conflict expressed through the podcast medium. This, dear friends, is the online experience!

Hometown Buffet
"Let me tell you this, there are some fat slobs at the Hometown Buffet." Dana Snyder
On On KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #173: Breakfast Nachos Dana talks about his routine at Hometown Buffet.
First he gets nachos. He puts the nachos right on the plate with spicy cheese sauce on top. Next is the main portion of the meal, a large salad. The salad includes spinach, beets, little corn, little peas, onion, hard boiled egg andsesame seeds sunflower seeds.
After that he is basically full, but he gets a little extra. The most recent time it was 1 chicken wing & 1 small scoop of mashed potatoes and gravy.
Fascinating.
If anyone asks you why you love the Snydecast, don't show them the above paragraph. Assure them that Dana and Ken ponder the issues of the day with a poignancy few people have.
I found a mediocre commercial for the restaurant online. Since some of you probably skip the videos, I am going to break it down for you.
See there is this nerd and he's dining alone and this "I Love Lucy" looking waitress served him a plate with a green donut, a pork chop and some hashbrowns. He's like "Lady, this aint what I ordered, I never order a green donut, a pork chop and some hashbrowns."
Then she get's all up in his face saying "Girlfriend, you did not just say that I made a mistake. I don't never make a mistake."
Then the announcer says "Screw that! Go to a buffet."
Then they explain in detail what a buffet is. "You don't order, you just choose."
Then they show this couple: See, people don't go to the buffet ALONE like that tool at the beginning of the commercial. People that eat at buffets also get babes. FACT!
To drill home the point we see this dork again showing her what he ordered off the MENU! Menus are stupid. Hometown Buffet has no use for them. Yep, the buffet is pro-choice. Notice the plate of spaghetti they use as an "o", brilliant.
Now go watch it:

Casa Bonita
On KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #173: Breakfast Nachos Dana talks about the very bizarre Mexican restaurant in Denver called Casa Bonita.
You may have seen the restaurant parodied on South Park.
From wiki
They even show the the small passage Dana mentioned that the food is slid through.
It also shows the cliff divers, part of a puppet show and a juggling gorilla.
The only downside is it's someone's family video and so you have to watch them at points. I am sure they are nice people but watching someone's home movies is always a bit annoying. Especially when you don't know them.
Nonetheless they made a nice HD video of Casa Bonita and you should take a look:
You may have seen the restaurant parodied on South Park.
From wiki
The South Park episode "Casa Bonita" prominently features the Colorado branch of the restaurant. Other episodes that mention it briefly are: "Quest for Ratings" (where a clock is labeled as showing the time at Casa Bonita), "You Have 0 Friends" and "201" (where the restaurant is reportedly destroyed). Additionally the building that houses South Park Studios was named after the restaurant.Anyway, I found this video which gives a great overview of what a night a Casa Bonita would be like... without the lousy food.

Zak Knutson in Clerks 2
On KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #173: Breakfast Nachos the boys talk about a mutual friend who Ken mentions is familiar to people who watch Kevin Smith's films.
They mention his disappointment in Dana for going to Hometown Buffet for his birthday.
The gentleman in question is Zak Knutson. Here is the buffet tweet:
Here is Zak's most memorable scene from Clerks 2. Enjoy!

Thanksgiving Snydecasts
Looking for some Snyde & Plume to go with your turkey? Take a listen to these bad boys:
KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #71: A Turkey And A Ham
Here is the original 2008 description from asitecalledfred.com:
Ken & Dana return with a post-Thanksgiving discussion of nude former classmates, nudity in general, a little bit of mail, and what they’re both thankful for.
KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #122: Turkey Daze
From 2009, this episode was described as:
Ken & Dana return with a pre-holiday free-for-all that winds up fixated on brining. And other stuff, of course, but still - lots of brining. And potatoes.
KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #123: Whine And Brine
Also from 2009, this was the follow up episode:
Ken & Dana return with a post-holiday argument about turkey choices gone wrong, if you can believe that. Can you believe that? It’s so unlike them! So totally unlike them. At all.
KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #162: Turdanken
And who can forget the 2010 Thanksgiving day spectacular:
Ken & Dana return with another of their mostly annual Thanksgiving episodes, and even manage to talk a bit about Turkey Day before the whole snail mail fiasco comes crashing down around their ears. Of corn. Zing!

Souplantation
On KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #173: Breakfast Nachos Dana briefly mentions Souplantation.
It sounded fascinating. I pictured Uncle Remus singing Zip-a-dee-soup's-on!
Then I looked it up.
It's just a place that makes soup.
They do have a website.
Sorry. I will try harder on the next post.

Forum & Dag Bags
On KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #173: Breakfast Nachos Snydely and Plumey chat about the classic musical "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum".
They talked about it many times before, specifically on KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #120: A Funny Thing Happened.
If you haven't seen "Forum", do yourself a favor and do so.
In the meantime, here is a great extended clip of Phil Silvers in the film:
Oh yeah, here's a Dag Bag:

Fan Photos from Arrow Rock
On KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #173: Breakfast Nachos Dana talks about the fan that came to see him twice in Arrow Rock.
The post below was originally posted on August 8th. I thought it was worth another look:
I received the following email today:
BTW, check out Dana's sweet Herzog shirt. It's from a series of shirts with names of movie directors in the style and font of rock bands. Dana's shirt combines the Danzig logo:
With the great Werner Herzog (pictured below, being attacked by Klaus Kinski):
You can buy the shirt here.... and since I know you wanted to "flip book" those last two pics of Dana, here is an animated gif:
Thanks to Carolyn for sending the pictures over!If you have any pictures of Dana or Ken and want to share them on The Experience, shoot me an email at drwienerbreathesq@gmail.com.

I received the following email today:
Hello Dr. Wienerbreath!
I went to see Dana in The Sound Of Music and Run For Your Wife in Arrow Rock, and was lucky enough to speak with Dana after both shows. I got pictures with him both times, and he told me that if I sent them to you, you would put them up on the Experience. So, they are attached and ready. Thanks! How awesome it must have been to see Dana in both of those shows. Here are the pictures of Carolyn with a clean shaven Dana Snyder... well... it's as clean shaven as Dana gets:
Love,
Carolyn
P.S. Sorry about the picture that is very dark and of terrible quality. That was taken the first time, when all I had to take a photo was my shit-ass Razr phone. Still a very worthy and awesome-in-spirit photo, though, if you ask me.

KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #173: Breakfast Nachos
It has ARRIVED! It's a delightful conversation that starts out with all the aggravated banter we would expect from a Snydecast that has been pent up for over half a year.
The boys talk about Dana's latest sojourns on stage. They also speak about stealing pizza, hometown buffet, airfare, 15 lbs of bratwurst and Kearney, NJ.
It's everything you were waiting for!
Check it out at asitecalledfred.com.

Since we last left Ken and Dana...
Since the last Snydecast dropped back in late April much has happened to our favorite pod people...
Ken has released 50 episodes of his "A Bit of a Chat" podcast. Ken has also done 3 episodes of Whotininnies Check them out here and here.
Dana performed onstage in Arrow Rock Missouri in Run for Your Wife, The Sound of Music and Damn Yankees.
Dana also appeared at the Florida Supercon in Miami:
Ken appeared at Dragon-con sans Snydely...
...but Dana appeared at D23.
Dana also was a celebrity judge for the Mid-Missouri's Got Talent competition.
Both Ken and Dana celebrated birthdays since April.
Here on the Snydecast Experience we explored Dana's past as a male model, reported Snydely sightings at Musso & Franks, tried to uncover an amazing joke Ken once told, found people that WEREN'T Dana Snyder and dealt with our feelings of sadness.
Plus, we made a video of Dana eating a sandwich.
It was good times, and we made it through this dry spell... I think... the new episode hasn't been released yet.

Remember when Dana and Dave Willis did the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Live Show? Even if you didnt get a chance to see it in person, you certainly heard Dana talk about it on the Snydecast (and his quest to find a case for the Master Shake puppet.)
Anyway, the website is still on line: starsofaquateen.com and (as mentioned on the Snydecast) it contains many wacky photos of Dana with even wackier captions.

The Wacky Wiki Saga
Well, it's gone.
Yep.
BTW, we can reuse and make fun of David Eppstein's photo all we want because of wiki's photo rules.
Anyway, the Snydecast page is gone because it is "web content" and isn't significant.
This isn't to say that no podcasts are on Wikipedia. Other celebrity podcasts do have wiki pages. Shows like Adam Corolla's & Kevin Smith's do get a page, as they should.
But I dare you to explain to me how any of the following podcasts are more worthy of wiki space than The Ken PD Snydecast:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WDW_Radio
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tell_%27Em_Steve-Dave!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_and_The_Girl
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobody_Likes_Onions
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4Player_Podcast
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dawn_and_Drew_Show
I don't get it at all.
If WEB CONTENT isn't significant on a WEB ENCYCLOPEDIA then.... wait.... I have an idea:
This time it wasn't Rwiggum or David Eppstein. It was a new group of jackasses.
But Eppstien is more fun to blame. Just look at him:
BTW, we can reuse and make fun of David Eppstein's photo all we want because of wiki's photo rules.
All I have to say is "the photo of the dopey clown above was taken by Elena Mumford. It has been remixed and altered but still keeps it's creative commons licence. Elena Mumford hasn't endorsed this blog. She is far to busy taking pictures of a dude who looks like a bloated Art Garfunkel."

The Snydecast wiki page
As an experiment I decided to make a new Snydecast wiki page. I made it as short as possible. Filled it only with facts and I am now waiting to see if it bites the dust like the last one did.
I tried to do the same for Ken Plume, but a roadblock is in place if you are trying to re-create a deleted entry. Luckily the previous Snydecast page was not under the name "The Ken P. D. Snydecast" or the same would have happened.
Unable to make one for Ken Plume I made on for "Ken plume". Capitalization means everything.
Let's keep an eye on these and see what happens. It will give us something to do as we wait for the next episode of the Snydecast...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ken_P._D._Snydecast
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_plume
UPDATE (like 10 seconds later): The "Ken plume" page is gone and the Snydecast page is recommended for "speedy deletion".
There goes 2 minutes of work down the drain.
I'd be annoyed, but the phrase "speedy deletion" made me think of the "Speedy Delivery" man from Mister Rogers. He always makes me happy!
I am contesting the proposed speedy deletion by mentioning that Dana is significant and therefore the Snydecast MUST be.
I didn't mention Plumey because clearly Wikipedia hates him.
Video: Fred
On KEN P.D. SNYDECAST #92: Fred Fu Ken brings up a "YouTube sensation":
He then instructs Dana to watch the following video:
Dana then suggests we all go see Fred at the Hot Topic for an event that happened PRIOR to the record of that Snydecast.
Ken: Have you ever heard of this, supposedly a YouTube sensation for years, I never heard of it.
Dana: Yeah, that’s what YouTube sensation means. YouTube sensation means sh*t nobody ever heard of.
He then instructs Dana to watch the following video:
Dana: What the f*ck is going on here? This kid’s gay, I’ll tell you that.
Ken: Now, you don’t know if he’s gay or not… you were in theater.
Dana: Yes, that’s rude. I shouldn’t say that.
Dana then suggests we all go see Fred at the Hot Topic for an event that happened PRIOR to the record of that Snydecast.
Dana: You can’t watch this and tell me that you don’t think he’s probably…
Ken: I am not going to make judgments because I’ve seen plenty-
Dana: No, because you never make judgments! Your JOB is to make judgments, you idiot!

You owe it to yourself.
In the meantime, here are some great Blues Brothers videos from YouTube:
